LUCIANO
GHERSI
Born in 1952 in Genua. He calls himself a „Hyper-textile hand-weaver“.
His book “L´Essere e il Tessere” (Being and Weaving) shows,
that Ghersi reflects his work also in a philosophical way. For weaving he uses
all sorts of materials. Ghersi often involves his audience into his work (e.g.
“Global Home” where passers-by have been asked to bring textiles
or other things that can be woven into a vast tent-shaped object), and a lot
of textile sculptures were made for public spaces.
