BIRGIT NEUMANN
Born in Offenbach in 1957, she now lives in Italy (South Tyrol). After having
accomplished Design studies, she attended a class for craftsman-mastership
for ceramics at the Academy in Vienna. Plants and botanical forms and structures
have been a central subject in Birgit Neumann´s work ever since. She
has been highly influenced by Karl Bloßfeldt who first revealed the
architectural qualities of these forms in his book “Urformen der Kunst”.
Besides ceramics Birgit Neumann is dedicated to working as web-designer.
